Abstract
In Korea, foreign products of. AST, ALT and Alkaline Phosphatase kits are widely used for the autoanalyzer enzyme tests despite of high running cost.
A few domestic products are now available with less expences. The comparison of results betweer. foreign and domestic kits in clinical chemistry were performed from totally 738 tests composing 226 sera for AST, 240 sera for ALT, and 272 sera for serum alkaline phosphatase.
Authors studied the product kits in comparison with two other widely used imported kits (A-gent and Beckman).
In serum AST, the means of A-gent kit, Beckman kit and Domestic kit (Yong Dong Pharm.) were 45 IU/1, 48 IUll, and 49 IU/1 respectively, and there were no significant difference between these means and the coeficient values were 0.990 and 0.989.
In serum ALT, the means of A-gent kit, Beckman kit and Domestic kit were 43 IU/l, 44 IU/1 and 44 IU/1 respectively and there were no significant difference between these means and the coefficient values were 0.991 and 0.991.
In serum alkaline phosphatase, the means of A-gent kit, Beckman kit and Domestic kit were 129 IU/1, 131 IU/l and 131 IU/l respectively, and there were no significant difference between these means and the coeficient values were 0.990 and 0.995.
In conclusion, the domestic kits in clinical chemistry could be recommended for routine base.
